MONITORING OF FREE RADICALS AND ANTIOXIDANTS

Free radicals are unstable molecules in which one electron is missing, and therefore they try to "steal" it from the cells of our body. They consistently invade the cells and tissues and damage them. They cause oxidative stress.

Oxidative stress is an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants.

Under ideal conditions, our body is able to compensate the damage caused by oxidative stress using the body's own antioxidants. If during long-term stress the level of free radicals is increased, our natural antioxidants are not able to defend our body and the cells become damaged.

FORT (Free Oxygen Radicals Test)

– the measurement of free radicals in a single drop of blood.

Test course: It is recommended not to eat, smoke or drink alcohol one hour before the test. After disinfecting the finger, a gentle puncture and sampling of blood into the capillary is carried out. The actual performance of the test by the CR 3000 apparatus is carried out by a trained nurse.

Recommendation: The test should be performed once every 1-2 months. The results are regularly monitored and displayed graphically

Results:

  • The correct value: 160 - 310 Fort U
  • Middle oxidative stress: 310 - 400 Fort U
  • High oxidative stress: > 500 Fort U

FORD (Free Oxygen Radicals Defence)

– the measurement of antioxidants in a single drop of blood.

Test course: It is recommended not to eat, smoke or drink alcohol one hour before the test. After disinfecting the finger, a gentle puncture and sampling of blood into the capillary is carried out. The actual performance of the test by the CR 3000 apparatus is carried out by a trained nurse.

Recommendation: The test should be performed once every 1-2 months together with the FORT test. The results are regularly monitored and displayed graphically

Results:

  • An excellent result: > 1,53
  • Normal value: 1,07 - 1,53
  • Deficit: - deficit < 1,07
